Turning waste into energy

Pyros currently exports more than 34,000 megawatt hours of electricity every year – enough to supply 7,250 UK households for a year – from our Waste to Energy plant.

This plant exports energy from the incineration of meat and bone meal. We are currently investing in state-of-the-art equipment which will enable us to export electricity from the process of incinerating alternative waste streams previously sent to landfill, to enable the UK to meet the demands of the EU landfill directive.
